Canadian Soprano Ileana Montalbetti touched a lot of hearts as Ellen Orford in the Canadian Opera Company’s production of Peter Grimes (Benjamin Britten). It has garnered her TWO award nominations so far, the first for the ‘My Theatre Awards’ and her latest one for the TAPA Dora Mavor Awards! Her Dora Awards nomination is for ‘Outstanding Performance – Female’ and she is in excellent company being nominated alongside Adrianne Pieczonka, Allyson McHardy, Lucy Crowe, and Sondra Radvanovsky!

The awards show will be held on June 23 at Harbourfront Centre’s WestJet Stage. Congrats to all!

The Dora Mavor Moore Awards honour the creators of over 200 theatre, dance and opera productions annually in six major categories:

Theatre for Young Audiences

Each winner receives a bronze statue cast from an original by sculptor John Romano.
